The George Washington University Hospital is a leading academic medical center in downtown Washington, D.C. We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the critical care department.

About the Role

As a Respiratory Therapist at GWUH, you will be an essential partner with providers, nursing, and support staff in delivering high-quality patient care. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide cutting-edge clinical care to critically ill patients.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fulfills the needs of patients, families, and community by performing various routine and intensive therapy, diagnostic procedures, and patient assessments.
  • Maintains and stocks respiratory equipment, ensuring ventilator and life support equipment are operable.
Requirements

To be successful as a Respiratory Therapist at GWUH, you must have:

  • Graduation from an approved two-year respiratory therapist program.
  • Licensed by the District of Columbia Health Regulation.
  • Licensed as an RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist and certified by NBRC.
  • BLS Basic Life Support for Health Care Professionals required.
  • ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
