Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural systems for various projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed designs and plans for structures, including buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
  • Use engineering software and tools to perform complex calculations and analysis to determine the structural integrity and stability of designs.
  • Conduct site assessments and inspections to gather data for the design process and ensure that proposed structures meet specific site requirements.
  • Prepare technical specifications and project proposals to communicate requirements and expectations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with architects, construction teams, and other professionals to ensure structural designs align with overall project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national building codes and regulations to guarantee safety and legal standards are met.
  • Utilize CAD software to create 2D and 3D models, drawings, and blueprints for effective communication of design concepts.
  • Identify potential risks and hazards associated with structural designs and implement measures to mitigate these risks during construction and maintenance phases.
  • Perform regular structural assessments and inspections of existing buildings and structures to assess their integrity, identify potential problems, and recommend necessary maintenance or repairs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado.
  • Four years of experience in civil or structural engineering design, cost estimating, project management, and facilities maintenance.
  • Experience in code compliance reviews, sustainable design, water distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, open stormwater drainage, pavements design/maintenance, roofing, and structural analysis is preferred.
