We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Development Specialist to join our team at the Garden of Prayer Youth Center. The successful candidate will provide individualized services to 6-8 young adults, ages 18-21, in the home and community setting to assist them in transitioning to adulthood.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized services to young adults, including case management, counseling, and support.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as probation, child welfare workers, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive support for young adults.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of young adults' needs and develop service plans on a monthly basis.
- Document all service contacts with young adults within required timelines.
- Attend all meetings related to young adults and/or families to gather information and advocate for their best interests.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.
- Knowledge of youth development, adolescent issues, and positive youth development/strength-based approach.
- Child Welfare Employee Licensure at hire or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Valid Illinois Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
- Clear background check with no history of child abuse or neglect.
- Knowledge of trauma exposure and traumatic stress signs and symptoms.
- Ability to communicate and work with children with varying skills and ages.
- Mathematics and language arts proficiency.
- First aid and CPR certification.
