Job Summary

We're seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our team at Emory Long Term Acute Care in Decatur. As a clinical expert in a specialty practice area, you'll ensure appropriate medication therapy and clinical outcomes for our institution. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring drug therapy regimens and performing daily patient profile reviews to assess, monitor, and recommend appropriate drug therapy
  • Consistently evaluating, intervening, and documenting adverse drug reactions, medication variances, and clinical interventions beyond institutional protocols
  • Preventing and resolving drug-related problems to ensure safety, efficacy, and cost-efficiency by consulting with prescribers and documenting appropriately
  • Providing in-depth knowledge of research designs, methodologies, and biostatistics to answer drug information questions
  • Overseeing the work of pharmacy students, technicians, and pharmacists to ensure performance standards are maintained and work is in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • ASHP-accredited Post Graduate Year 1 and 2 Residency or Fellowship or equivalent experience in the specialty area
  • An active Georgia Pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure with attempt to register within 60 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 1 year for positions with Code Blue coverage responsibility
Preferred Qualifications

Relevant Pharmacy Specialty Board certification is preferred.
