Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Utility Foreman to join our team at Reeves Construction Company, a subsidiary of Colas USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day utility operations of our projects, including supervising various phases of utility installation, managing vendors and subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supervise the installation of storm drainage, water, and sewer utilities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Read and interpret plans, identifying potential issues and developing solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Set and check grade, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Apply knowledge of dig law, sloping, and safe excavation practices to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the Department of Transportation, customers, employees, and subcontractors, resolving issues and addressing concerns.
  • Implement environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies, ensuring compliance with local, state, and government requirements.
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring it is serviced, lubricated, and in good working order.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate daily activities and work assignments for the team, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Track and report daily work hours, equipment utilization, and quantities of work performed.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in storm, water, and/or sewer utilities.
  • 1-2 years of foreman experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people, equipment, and materials in a safe, efficient, and ethical manner.
  • Knowledge of traffic control standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as excavators, loaders, and rollers.
  • Travel in short intervals may be required.
  • Fluent communication in English, both verbally and in written form.
  • Valid, current driver's license.
  • Experience using computers, tablets, and applications related to email and timekeeping.
