Compensation: $55-80 per hour

The Engineering Project Lead will oversee and inspire a team in the management of project safety, quality assurance, scheduling, budget control, contracts, risk assessment, supplier relations, proposals, estimates, documentation handover, client interactions, field personnel, and other essential responsibilities. This position entails guiding projects from initiation to completion, potentially serving as an EPC Project Manager or Program Manager, while providing direction to others as dictated by specific project needs. The Engineering Project Lead is accountable for the comprehensive execution and successful delivery of projects within the established timeline and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer leadership and direction on all facets of multi-discipline engineering projects from inception to completion, encompassing safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction, environmental compliance, project oversight, and community relations.
  • Formulate project teams, synchronize activities across various disciplines, and ensure the effective and economical use of personnel.
  • Oversee all dimensions of project communication.
  • Guide the creation of RFP packages, manage the bidding and selection process, and develop scope of work documents.
  • Construct and monitor project timelines, manage project scope, and regulate project expenditures.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, overseeing client coordination, strategic planning, master scope management, budgeting, subcontracting, project staffing, environmental compliance, facility support, and schedule adherence.
  • Supervise the review, negotiation, approval, and execution of primary contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Conduct internal and external project risk assessments, consulting with the Risk Department as needed.
  • Manage and validate reports, delivering detailed project cost forecasts and accruals.
  • Direct project control initiatives, including cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structure establishment, project setup, and closeout within the accounting framework, as well as field progress tracking.
  • Track project advancement, providing insights and direction to enhance schedule compliance, productivity, budget management, quality, and profitability.
  • Oversee contract closure activities.
  • Generate new business opportunities by cultivating new client relationships or leveraging existing ones.
  • Comply with safety programs, training, and policies, promoting and managing the safety and health performance of project team members and subcontractors.
  • Engage in and attend industry conferences and committees.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to less experienced staff.
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and company/site safety regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience on construction project sites or in program management within sectors such as aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, demanding environment, and work overtime on short notice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary project team to resolve issues and achieve objectives.
  • Extensive experience with document control, scheduling, cost management, and project management software.
