We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Project Manager to lead a large-scale technology project for our client in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, with experience in agile methodologies and waterfall methodologies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a clinical and environmental laboratory information management system (LIMS), ensuring the project is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This will involve collaborating closely with stakeholders across different departments to gather requirements, create and maintain documentation, provide RFP input, plan project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress.
Key Responsibilities- Clearly define roles and responsibilities, drive constructive and productive participation by all involved.
- Aggressively manage project tasks to ensure work progresses according to schedule.
- Collect requirements from a broad set of users and combine them into a comprehensive statement of requirements.
- Prepare documentation, obtain approval, and track all changes in project scope.
- Communicate project changes and events to stakeholders and senior management.
- Set project goals and develop plans to meet those goals.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Manage multiple associated projects throughout the project lifetime to ensure success as defined by adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
- Conduct regular project meetings and ensure comprehensive documentation of project progress and outcomes.
- Provide timely status reports to reflect project status, issues, and risks.
- Proactive identification of risks and impacts, and collaboration with customer and project team to address concerns.
- Proven work experience as an IT Project Manager (10+ years)
- Significant experience in agile project management methodologies and waterfall methodologies (7+ years)
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Experience in RFP process (5+ years)
- Experience in Planview Enterprise 1 or similar Portfolio and Project Management tools (7+ years)
- Experience in Azure DevOps or any Agile Project Management tools (7+ years)
- Certified Project Manager by PMI or VITA PM certification
- Experience in Laboratory Information Management System (highly desired)
- Experience working as a Project Manager in a Commonwealth of Virginia Executive Branch Agency (highly desired)
