Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Counselor to join our team at Westhab Inc. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide guidance and support in a dynamic environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of academic, enrichment, recreational, and leadership development programs to participating youth. This will involve providing individualized support and guidance, as well as leading group activities and workshops.

You will also be required to maintain accurate records, report on program outcomes, and participate in regular team meetings and training sessions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide academic instruction and support to participating youth, focusing on literacy and STEM curriculum.
  • Lead enrichment, recreation, and leadership development programs, promoting self-esteem and teaching important life skills.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment, ensuring the wellbeing of all participants throughout program hours.
  • Attend regular team meetings, training sessions, parent meetings, and other assigned meetings to market the program and report on outcomes.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as fire drills, evacuations, shelter-in-place, and lockdowns.
  • Escort children to various activities in the building and in the community, as necessary.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma/GED and at least two years of expertise in direct afterschool program delivery.
  • A College diploma is preferred, but not required.
  • High energy, a dynamic personality, and a genuine passion for working with youth.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs, as needed.
