About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Operator to join our team at Consumers Energy. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our power plant, ensuring that we meet our energy production targets while maintaining a strong focus on safety and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain industrial machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and safe plant operations
  • Monitor and control plant systems to optimize energy production and minimize waste
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment as directed
  • Collaborate with senior operators and supervisors to ensure smooth plant operations and address any issues that may arise
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in power plant operations or a related field
  • Proven experience in operating and maintaining industrial machinery and equipment
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
