About the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science is expanding its clinical and academic footprint in the metro-Atlanta area as part of our strategic plan.

We are seeking engaged and enthusiastic faculty to partner with us and contribute to the field through the tripartite missions of education, research, and quality clinical care.

Our department is part of the Brain Health Center, a collaborative five-specialty unit that offers an enriched research environment in both laboratory and clinical settings in addition to academic training opportunities in graduate and undergraduate education.

Faculty members have opportunities for clinical, research, and academic collaboration with other Brain Health faculty including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Rehabilitation Medicine, and Sleep, in addition to the other departments at Emory.

About the Consultation Liaison Position

We are seeking Adult Psychiatrists who are interested in becoming a leader in the growing, dynamic field of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry.

The successful candidate will join our Consultation Liaison (CL) faculty as a Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist at Emory University Hospital Midtown.

The primary duties of the CL Psychiatrist will be to provide inpatient consultation liaison services for our medical, surgical and OB/GYN services at Emory University Hospital Midtown and Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown.

As a member of the CL Division the candidate will participate in developing new, innovative models of consultation that involve proactive collaboration with medical and surgical services, use of onsite services and telepsychiatry as a platform providing clinical care and the development of diverse consultation teams that comprise of advance practice nurses, learners and faculty.

Emory University Hospital Midtown is a 511 bed acute care teaching hospital in the soho district of Atlanta.

U.S. News and World Report names Midtown as one of the top 5 hospitals in the state of Georgia.

The Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown is a new 17 story facility that provides both outpatient and inpatient cancer care into care communities.

The Winship Cancer Institute is Georgias only National Cancer Instituted designated Comprehensive Cancer Cancer.
