Dayton Children's is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate EMT to join our Respiratory Transport Services team. As an EMT - Patient Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation of critically ill and injured children to and from the hospital and other facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport patients in a fully equipped ambulance, providing basic patient care and comfort measures as needed.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay up-to-date on best practices.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
Requirements:
- State of Ohio Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification
- CPR/BLS certification
- PALS certification (preferred within four weeks of hire)
- EVOC Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (preferred within two weeks of hire)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position working night shifts, 7p-7a. The EMT - Patient Transport Specialist will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, navigating through heavy traffic and inclement weather conditions. The ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations is essential.
