About the Department

Reliability Engineering focuses on ensuring dependability throughout the lifecycle of our products. This discipline is dedicated to maintaining the performance of systems and components under specified conditions over time. The primary goals of Reliability Engineering include utilizing engineering expertise and specialized methods to minimize failure occurrences and to identify and rectify the root causes of any failures that may arise. The Reliability Engineering team at Gulfstream is tasked with conducting necessary reliability assessments, managing failure reporting and corrective actions for both developmental and operational programs, and monitoring the reliability performance of critical in-service components.
  • Strong communication and computer proficiency
  • Background in quality assurance principles
  • Experience in conducting Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
Educational and Professional Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Reliability, or a related technical field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables the successful execution of job responsibilities. A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Reliability Engineer or in a related role is essential, along with demonstrated expertise in calculating aircraft reliability performance metrics.

Position Overview:

This role involves participating in the planning, coordination, execution of design tasks, and analysis of engineering data that supports the development and refinement of Gulfstream Reliability products and associated challenges, regardless of their complexity.

Core Responsibilities

Essential Duties:
  1. Collaborate in the review and maintenance of Reliability databases, including preparation and presentation to both internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Provide technical recommendations for reliability programs on behalf of Gulfstream.
  3. Independently develop and define new aircraft reliability requirements in the relevant Design Specifications and Statements of Work (SOW) for new components or systems.
  4. Evaluate supplier proposals for various aircraft components or systems and assist in the supplier evaluation and selection process.
  5. Take initiative to devise solutions within established schedule and budget constraints.
  6. Create standards and guidelines to facilitate Reliability activities.
  7. Guide and mentor team members on Reliability processes and practices.
  8. Proactively seek and implement enhancements in daily operations.
  9. Stay informed about advancements in the field of specialty and related aircraft domains to propose innovations that enhance the quality and effectiveness of company products.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Other Qualifications:
  1. Demonstrated foundational knowledge of statistical analysis techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removals (MTBUR).
