Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with various cardiac conditions requiring continuous monitoring.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, identify changes, and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Administer medications and treatments, including management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration).
  • Care for patients with post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery needs.
  • Perform IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line/PICC line management.
  • Provide respiratory/thoracic care, including managing patients with chronic/long-term ventilation, chest tubes, and various oxygen delivery devices.
  • Educate patients and families on their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience required
  • Active California RN license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
  • Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
  • Proficiency in:
    • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
    • Telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
    • IV therapy and phlebotomy
    • Respiratory/thoracic care
    • Medication administration (heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drips - no titration)

Additional Information:

  • May float to Med-Surg units as needed
  • Accepts first-time travelers
  • No call requirement
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Scrubs: Royal Blue
  • Patient population: Adolescents - Geriatrics

    • Average Census: 36
    • Number of Rooms/Beds: 36
    • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
