Job Summary

The Safety Manager is a critical role that supports the senior safety manager and project team in ensuring the successful completion of construction projects. This position is responsible for managing safety and health processes, collaborating with stakeholders, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the project team in managing safety and health processes, including developing and implementing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring safety metrics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including project owners, insurance carriers, and Hensel Phelps staff, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Enhance the safety culture through participation in executive safety culture charrettes and assisting the CARES (craft safety) committee.
  • Oversee the safety point file system and documentation, maintaining project statistical data and conducting project safety audits.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the project's SAFE program, analyzing project safety trends and implementing initiatives to address unsafe trends.
Requirements
  • A 4-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety on commercial construction projects, with experience on USACE construction sites as SSHO required.
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Certification designation is suggested.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite.
  • Ability to pass security clearance check for badging.
