The COMET contract encompasses comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at a prominent space center. These responsibilities will support various programs, including the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
·Preparation Support - Allocate and provision resources for operations, ensuring standardized configurations for hardware and software. This includes software installations, system initialization, and readiness assessments.
·Real-Time Operational Support - Engage in proactive measures to ensure seamless support, providing necessary information to avert disruptions. This involves system monitoring, data documentation, and real-time coordination of scheduled and unscheduled activities.
·Issue Management and Resolution - Identify and document hardware and software challenges.
·Additional Operational Support - Serve as the primary communication link to the testing team, manage environmental monitoring, and prepare for disaster recovery.
·Develop and uphold operational protocols.
·Monitor and analyze systems, maintaining logs and file systems, managing account privileges, and investigating issues.
·Administration of System Management Controls - Configure hardware maps and set up non-standard platforms.
·Facilitate technical meetings.
·Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or three (3) years of relevant experience.
Depending on the candidate's qualifications and business requirements, we may consider applicants at various levels for this position.
Job Requirements
·Proficient background in Linux is essential.
·Ability to adhere to complex procedures and maintain attention to detail.
·Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency is required upon offer of employment.
Physical Requirements
·May require climbing stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
·Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
·Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
·Physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, and navigating stairs and remote structures.
·Position is situated in a testing facility; must be able to evacuate swiftly in emergencies.
Work Environment
·May involve working indoors and outdoors across the test complex.
·Daily travel to various locations on-site may be required.
·Walking on uneven surfaces, including paved areas and natural terrain, may be necessary.
·Climbing ladders and platforms may be part of the role.
·All tasks must be performed safely, adhering to safety standards.

Attendance Expectations
·Full-time work hours are required.
