Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality Italian dishes to specification, using a variety of cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and high-quality food presentation.
  • Monitor food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Estimate expected food consumption, requisition or purchase supplies, or procure food from storage.
  • Set up kitchen stations according to guidelines and par sheets.
  • Pre-cut ingredients to reduce preparation time for dishes.
  • Check kitchen equipment to ensure it is operational.
  • Stock stations to par levels.
  • Check stations for equipment and tools.
  • Memorize ingredients and portion sizes for menu items.
  • Wrap, date, and refrigerate food.
  • Sanitize cutting boards.
  • Organize station shelves.
  • Hand-clean knives.
  • Participate in line checks to ensure quality products are served.
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-ins, and all storage areas.
  • Wash hands frequently.
  • Use kitchen utensils, knives, and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Work as a team and use positive communication skills.
  • Clean, stock, and maintain kitchen stations throughout shift.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum one year of cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
  • Ability to use all sensory capabilities such as vision, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching, and speaking.
