Job Summary:

The Avionics Manager will be responsible for overseeing maintenance activities across various departments, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and reporting to the Director of Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Maintenance Control, Heavy Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Quality Control, and Materials departments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage and direct all avionic functions at maintenance stations and avionic AOG technicians.
  • Evaluate and advise on Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs).
  • Order materials and kits, and schedule installations of approved ADs and SBs.
  • Monitor avionics team staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate maintenance coverage and operational efficiency.
  • Review overtime and initiate schedule changes as required.
  • Monitor avionics status across all fleets and issue work requests as necessary.
  • Responsible for policies, regulations, and procedures for ETOPS compliance.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Control and Materials department to ensure timely ordering of parts and equipment for A/C deferrals, upgrade projects, and AD/SB compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Valid A&P mechanic certificate with appropriate ratings.
  • Maintain National Airlines qualifications and authorizations for Airworthiness Release and ETOPS.
  • Experience on 747/757/A330 aircraft or equivalent wide-body aircraft preferred.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of aircraft maintenance, including mechanical, structural, and avionics systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of avionics supervisor experience.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage others effectively while remaining calm under stress.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and inspection methods, techniques, and equipment.
  • Commitment to quality and safety in all maintenance.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience required.
  • Valid Driver License and a record that meets company insurance standards.
  • Pass a background check, including a pre-employment drug test and criminal history records check.
  • Legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation or related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Five years of experience at an airline or MRO strongly preferred.
  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License preferred.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for supervising AOG avionics technicians.

Physical Demands:

Frequent walking, sitting, stooping, stretching, bending, reaching, and grasping actions. May be required to work nights and weekends. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

Generally, in office and different workstations such as the Hangar or ramp areas.

Travel/Other Requirements:
  • May travel up to 30%.
  • Valid passport without restrictions for travel in/out of the United States required.
