Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Activity Assistant to join our team at The Springs at Stony Brook. As an Activity Assistant, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities and programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a variety of activities and programs that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents
  • Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement activity plans that meet the needs of our residents
  • Lead and facilitate group activities, such as arts and crafts, games, and entertainment
  • Provide one-on-one support and engagement to residents who require additional assistance
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity attendance
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of new ideas and initiatives

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with older adults and individuals with dementia preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
