Job Title: Network Administrator III

Abacus Technology Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator to provide expert-level support for our enterprise-level network at Fort Johnson. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in network administration and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, both on-site and remotely, to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Monitor network performance and maintenance logs to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Provide top-notch support to end-users, addressing their applications, hardware, software, and networking needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and knowledge base articles to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and onboarding.
  • Oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of our local area network (LAN), ensuring optimal performance and robust security measures.
  • Utilize advanced NetOps capabilities to execute network administration tasks, guaranteeing optimal network performance and robust security measures.
  • Ensure the performance and security of the network, implement and enforce security procedures, and maintain adherence to organizational objectives.
  • Install and configure network hardware and software, troubleshoot network issues, and implement network policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide training to local users on network operations as needed, ensuring they have the necessary skills to effectively utilize our network resources.
  • Support SCIP, Fort Johnson Combat Training Center (CTC) rotations, training exercises, and compliance with DCWF Codes.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in a network administration or engineering role.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field desired.
  • Must be Security+ certified.
  • CCNA certification desired.
  • Experience with NETCOM's Enterprise central management tools for networks, including but not limited to Cisco Prime, Infovista, NetCool, wireless protocols b/g/n/ac), and wireless authentication protocols such as WPA2 Enterprise, WPA3, EAP, PEAP, EAP-TLS, and EAP-TTLS.
  • Proficiency with Orion software (e.g., NPM, NetFlow, and virtualization) and a thorough understanding of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, STP, CDP, HSRP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, FTP, TFTP, SNMP, IAS, VoIP, and 802.1x).
  • Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of IT equipment and systems design methods and familiarity with Network Management and Cyber Security approaches and requirements to recommend improvements, evaluate alternate configurations, and develop concepts for modifications and future systems.
  • Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization.
  • Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
