We are seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator II to join our team at Abacus Technology Corporation. As a Network Administrator II, you will be responsible for providing network and infrastructure support for our enterprise-level network at Fort Johnson. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in network administration, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Administration: Lead tasks and supervise staff in installing network hardware and software, and maintain day-to-day management and configuration control over LAN/WAN operations.
  • Cybersecurity: Provide daily O&M, manage network performance, and maintain network security.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain the system by troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software problems; evaluate, and implement network policies and procedures to ensure there is conformance with information systems and organizational objectives.
  • Security Procedures: Ensure security procedures are implemented and enforced.
  • Network Installation: Install network hardware and software; troubleshoot network problems; implement network policies, procedures, and standards; and ensure systems are in conformance with organizational objectives.
  • User Training: Train local users on network operations.
  • Network Performance: Provide comprehensive management of the installation's local area network (LAN) including installation, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the network.
  • NetOps Capabilities: Utilize NetOps capabilities to execute Network Administration tasks, ensuring optimal network performance and robust security measures.
  • Network Oversight: Oversee the performance and security of the network, implement and enforce security procedures, and maintain adherence to organizational objectives.
  • Network Configuration: Install and configure network hardware and software, troubleshoot network issues, and implement network policies, procedures, and standards.
  • User Support: Provide training to local users on network operations as needed.
  • SCIP Support: Support SCIP, Fort Johnson Combat Training Center (CTC) rotations, training exercises, and compliance with DCWF Codes.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a highly skilled Network Administrator II with a strong background in network administration, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years experience: In a network administration or engineering role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field desired.
  • Certifications: Must be Security+ certified. CCNA certification desired.
  • Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware and software in a multi-protocol environment and network management tools and software. Must have experience with NETCOM's Enterprise central management tools for networks, including but not limited to Cisco Prime, Infovista, NetCool, wireless protocols b/g/n/ac), and wireless authentication protocols such as WPA2 Enterprise, WPA3, EAP, PEAP, EAP-TLS, and EAP-TTLS. Proficiency with Orion software (e.g., NPM, NetFlow, and virtualization) and a thorough understanding of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, STP, CDP, HSRP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, FTP, TFTP, SNMP, IAS, VoIP, and 802.1x) is essential.
  • Soft Skills: Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
