Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer II (ME II) is primarily engaged within the operations division, providing essential support for production and operational needs. This role also encompasses collaboration with Design and Project Engineering teams to translate specifications into actionable production strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main technical resource for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with procurement specifications and internal standards.
- Initiate and advocate for product manufacturability while reviewing and supporting the release of planning documents.
- Develop and maintain Visual Work Instructions (VWI) and tooling requirements.
- Contribute to cost management by identifying waste reduction opportunities within manufacturing processes.
- Draft clear and precise work instructions for detailed components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
- Apply operational time standards and create Work Combination Sheets (WCS) as necessary.
- Act as a liaison for technical support between manufacturing and engineering teams.
- Assist in the initial production cycle for new products, ensuring effective manufacturing processes.
- Lead initiatives aimed at cost reduction and efficiency improvements as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement preventive measures to address nonconformance issues.
- Document and validate processes related to various manufacturing techniques, including machining and chemical processing.
- Ensure all engineering modifications are properly documented and executed.
- Support the design and development of tooling relevant to manufacturing and assembly operations.
- Review production drawings for technical accuracy and provide actionable recommendations.
- Contribute data and insights to the quoting process for customer requests.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Work Environment:
Engineers are expected to uphold safety standards and maintain a clean workspace, aligning with the company's commitment to quality and operational excellence.
