Material Handler

We are seeking a qualified Material Handler to join our team at Herr Foods. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving and storing product in the warehouse for distribution to our Route Sales team, while maintaining an accurate inventory of product and warehouse supplies.

• Unloading and Storing Product: Unload trailers and stack product in designated spaces in the warehouse.
• Inventory Management: Count and record product and materials being unloaded from trailer to maintain an accurate inventory count.
• Pulling Orders: Pull Route Sales daily orders from stock and place the orders on pallets or track.
• Supply Management: Collect and organize reusable cardboard boxes from Route Sales people.
• Record Keeping: Use computer to enter records and complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
• Support and Assistance: Provide back-up assistance to the Branch Warehouse Manager for generating orders, scheduling, and direction of job duty assignments for warehouse employees.
• Delivery Support: Operate a Herr's straight truck vehicle to assist with out-of-stocks or deliveries 1-2 days per week, regularly, as well as providing back-up support during vacations for the regular delivery driver.
• Route Support: Assist with Route Sales routes as needed.

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age per DOT regulations to operate the appropriate vehicle.
• Education: Must possess a high school diploma or general education degree; and/or one to three months related experience and/or training.
• Language Skills: Able to read, write, understand, and speak English.
• Physical Demands: Constantly reaching and using fine manipulation; frequently walking, bending, squatting, balancing, and lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; minimally sitting, kneeling, crawling, and climbing.
