We are seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer with a specialty in power systems to join our Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation (MEI) team in our Walnut Creek office. This role will work on both large and small projects locally, domestically, and internationally, preparing plans, designs, and project specifications for general electrical engineering on a wide variety of projects.

Our team works on electrical infrastructure for ports, waterfronts, industrial, commercial, government, and military facilities. You will work with an international MEI team and Senior Engineers around the company through our intraoffice staff utilization program.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for completing multiple or complex electrical designs to support firm-wide projects. This includes performing electrical calculations, design drawings, and project specifications using the latest engineering practices and code requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing lighting systems, lightning protection systems, medium/low voltage power distribution systems, overhead power distribution systems, grounding systems, and electrical power monitoring systems
  • Selective coordination, short circuit, and arc flash studies
  • Preparing detailed contract documents and studies
  • Performing construction administration support and inspections
  • Assisting in companywide QA/QC process

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3-6 years of related design experience
  • EIT, completion of fundamentals of Engineering (FE), or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in California
  • Pole detail and overhead power distribution design experience
  • Substation and transmission power design experience

We offer a competitive base salary range of $112,500 to $160,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualifications in the job description.
