This position focuses on the application of paint and coatings in a manufacturing setting at R.A. Miller Industries, Inc.

GENERAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Completion of high school education or equivalent
  • Consistent and reliable attendance

  • Ability to receive and implement instructions from supervisors
SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS

The following tasks are essential to this role, though additional responsibilities may be assigned:

  • Utilize spray painting equipment to coat surfaces of assemblies or components
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning and applying chemical solutions prior to painting
  • Mix and adjust paint or coatings to achieve desired colors and consistency
  • Mask areas that should not be painted
  • Apply primer and finish coatings to prepared surfaces using spray technology
  • Perform surface preparation including stripping, sanding, and polishing
  • May involve brush application for touch-ups
  • Adjust equipment settings to ensure proper curing and drying of coatings
  • Handle various grades of thinners and solvents
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Good manual dexterity and arm movement for tool usage
  • Capability to work with various chemicals without adverse reactions
  • Strong hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to interpret process documentation and follow instructions
  • Medical clearance for respirator use; respirator must be worn during application
  • Willingness to stand for extended periods while performing painting tasks
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is situated within a manufacturing facility, where employees may encounter various challenging conditions. The noise level can be considerable.
