Position Summary:
Join our dynamic team at Burlington Stores, a recognized leader in the retail industry, known for offering high-quality branded products at competitive prices. We are currently seeking a Sample Merchandise Coordinator to enhance our operational efficiency and support our growth trajectory.
The primary responsibility of this role is to collaborate with various departments, including purchasing, logistics, marketing, and human resources, to establish a streamlined and effective sample management system.
This position entails overseeing the receipt and distribution of merchandise samples, as well as managing the organization, storage, and potential donation of these items as required.
Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential, as this role involves regular interaction with multiple team members across the organization. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities will be crucial in maintaining orderly sample storage areas and providing necessary support to alleviate the workload of our merchandising teams.
Key Responsibilities:• Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams.
• Adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment with a comprehensive understanding of the sample management process.
• Coordinate the acquisition of merchandise samples from vendors and the retrieval of samples from storage areas.
• Organize, store, ship, or donate samples based on business requirements.
• Manage and oversee the sample inventory and storage areas for assigned merchandising departments.
• Work with stakeholders to identify and implement improvements in the sample management process, aiming to reduce the workload for merchandising teams.
• Administer weekly and monthly sample purge schedules, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
• Provide assistance to buyers with special equipment requests for strategy and product review meetings.
• Support human resources and buying teams during sample events, including the collection and staging of relevant samples for photography and sales purposes, as well as the breakdown and donation of remaining items. Qualifications:
• High school diploma is required; a college degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in merchandising is required.
• Familiarity with purchasing practices and sample management is essential.
• Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands while leading a team of peers.
• Strong decision-making capabilities.
• Proficient in engaging with individuals at various organizational levels.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and follow-up abilities.
• A sense of urgency and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
