Position Overview

As a Project Engineer within our Hydrology & Hydraulics team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses of intricate drainage systems to support various development initiatives.
  • Designing and analyzing stormwater detention basins, open channels, and storm sewer systems.
  • Performing floodplain and mitigation assessments.
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical documentation and cost estimations.
  • Conducting site visits to assess existing conditions and verify the accuracy of third-party surveys.
  • Participating in industry events and engaging with the community as a representative of WGA.
  • Coordinating with technical support or Land Development personnel under the supervision of the H&H Project Manager.
  • Scheduling project deliverables effectively.
  • Collecting, organizing, and evaluating relevant data.
  • Organizing and archiving project materials and references.
  • Utilizing computer modeling to analyze systems.
  • Developing, evaluating, and designing specifications and contract drawings.
  • Collaborating closely with project and task team leaders.
  • Maintaining regular attendance at the WGA office.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

  • A degree in Civil Engineering with up to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) license obtained or scheduled to take the exam.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exposure to HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and GIS software is preferred.
  • Experience in general Drainage/Hydrology & Hydraulics engineering design is a plus.
