We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team at Huitt-Zollars in Houston. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing drainage analysis, modeling, and design for public infrastructure and transportation projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, as well as experience with software such as HEC RAS and HEC HMS. You will work collaboratively with our team to prepare hydrologic and hydraulic studies, research jurisdictional drainage requirements, and produce drainage design and construction drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC RAS and HEC HMS
  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting
  • Research jurisdictional drainage requirements for incorporation into design and construction drawings
  • Produce drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD and Microstation
  • Perform data management and prepare exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering with focus on hydraulics and hydrology
  • EIT in the state of Texas preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas

Knowledge:

  • Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with PondPack, XPSwmm, ArcHydro, GeoRAS, GeoHMS, InfoWorks, HEC-RAS 2D, GEOPAK Drainage, CivilStorm, and Civil3D
