Position: Medical Assistant at Summit Health

The Medical Assistants at Summit Health are integral to delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth departmental operations. Their responsibilities encompass collecting patient medical histories, preparing individuals for examinations, assisting healthcare providers during procedures, administering medications, offering patient guidance, and supporting the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize examination rooms for patient visits
  • Ensure patients are adequately prepared for their appointments
  • Maintain a steady flow of patients within the clinic
  • Communicate effectively and provide personalized care to meet patient needs
  • Accurately schedule patient appointments
  • Restock examination rooms with essential supplies
  • Record and monitor vital signs, updating patient medical records
  • Assist in facilitating transitions of care for patients
  • Provide necessary referrals and manage consult orders
  • Utilize electronic health records proficiently

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous
  • BLS certification is mandatory
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Basic computer skills are essential
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial
  • Experience with patient care equipment is a plus
