Job Summary

This role involves assisting with the installation, repair, and maintenance of the City's water system.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the installation and repair of wastewater lines and mains
  • Assisting with the joining and fitting of pipelines and valves
  • Assisting with rodding sewer lines
  • Assisting with routine checks and maintenance of lift stations
  • Assisting with street-related repairs
  • Assisting with line locates as needed
  • Assisting with inventory control
  • Preparing reports on work progress and other reports as assigned by the foreman or superintendent
  • Maintaining a safe work environment through adherence to procedures and safety awareness
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of interior and exterior facilities through mowing, weed eating, sweeping, mopping, and general upkeep
  • Collecting samples as needed
  • Notifying customers when assigned work affects service

Requirements include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Possession of or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire: Class 'D' ODEQ Wastewater Operator certification
  • Possession of or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire: Class 'B' or higher Commercial Driver License

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of relevant city, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies, as well as proper safety procedures related to grounds maintenance. They will also possess skills in oral and written communication, ability to work with hand tools and small equipment, and ability to work with motorized vehicles and equipment.

This is a safety-sensitive position, and employees in this role may be subject to random drug screenings as warranted.
