Position Overview
The Technical Recruitment Specialist/Career Development Consultant plays a pivotal role in collaborating with our clients to establish and sustain an effective technician recruitment initiative across targeted dealerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster robust relationships and work in partnership with regional teams and selected dealerships to achieve desired outcomes.
- Act as a subject matter expert on client-specific Technical Career Entry Programs (e.g., ASSET, FACT, MLR).
- Collaborate with regional teams and dealerships to evaluate their technician requirements using service expectancy data and other analytical tools.
- Design, implement, and oversee personalized technician career plans for both existing and new candidates.
- Guide dealerships on best practices for cultivating a sustainable technician pipeline, minimizing turnover, and enhancing customer retention and shop productivity.
- Secure commitment from Dealer Executive Management for the recruitment program.
- Serve as the primary liaison for client regions, dealerships, and educational institutions regarding technician placement, training, and development.
- Organize and engage in student recruitment events, career fairs, and grassroots initiatives.
- Represent the client in agreements with educational institutions, vehicle donations, and marketing initiatives.
- Participate in regional meetings, providing timely updates on business plans.
- Build and maintain relationships with current technical and vocational schools, ensuring extensive coverage for the client across the U.S.
- Engage with local middle and high schools, as well as third-party organizations, to cultivate future technician candidates.
- Collaborate with internal MarketSource teams to enhance technician candidate sourcing at the dealership level.
- Educate dealership hiring managers on effective recruitment strategies for technicians.
- Work with assigned dealerships to review technicians' long-term career plans and set clear expectations.
- Identify and assign a dealership mentor for each technician trainee.
- Monitor and support current technicians in the program, tracking their training and certification progress.
- Document all relevant information in the CRM system.
- Provide regular reports to client regional teams and dealership management regarding trainee progress, celebrating achievements, and addressing any challenges.
- Achieve and surpass program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven ability to engage and build relationships with executives and administrators to drive results.
- Effective communication skills to implement change across various organizational levels.
- Understanding of Automotive Dealership Fixed Operations or the Auto Aftermarket Repair Industry.
- Capability to create and deliver impactful presentations to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills.
- Ability to swiftly identify and address emerging issues.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an educational setting focused on recruitment and mentoring, or supervisory experience in automotive maintenance or repair.
- Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time.
