Job Summary

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Center for Discovery & Innovation will conduct research under supervision, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data. This role will play a critical part in conducting studies of the assigned lab, working independently to develop and execute experimental procedures to advance research projects.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and/or laboratory tasks and experiments under direct supervision.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Create reports from analysis of initial observations and conclusions.
  • Presents findings to higher-level staff.
  • Presents results in internal and external research forums such as scientific conferences, lab meetings, and institutional seminars.
  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Participates in grant and manuscript writing, as appropriate.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Minimum publication or in preparation of two articles as first author in a reputable peer-reviewed scientific journal.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct independent research.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Technical laboratory experiment techniques, including but not limited to RT-PCR, RNA/DNA extraction/preparation, staining, sample embedding, sectioning, etc.
  • Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.
