Postdoctoral Research Scientist

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Center for Discovery & Innovation will conduct research under supervision, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data. This role will play a critical part in conducting studies in assigned labs, working independently to develop and execute experimental procedures to advance research projects.
The research involves technical laboratory experimentation, including genomics, epigenetics, drug resistance, stem cell biology, drug discovery, diagnostics, and biomarker development.
Responsibilities- Conducts research and/or laboratory tasks and experiments under direct supervision.
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets data.
- Creates reports from analysis of initial observations and conclusions.
- Presents findings to higher-level staff.
- Presents results in internal and external research forums, such as scientific conferences, lab meetings, and institutional seminars.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Participates in grant and manuscript writing, as appropriate.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
A Ph.D. degree in a scientific discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two publications or in preparation as first author in a reputable peer-reviewed scientific journal. Excellent written and verbal skills, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to conduct independent research are essential. Experience working in a BSL2/BSL3 lab facility is preferred.
