Position Overview:

U-Haul is seeking dedicated technicians to maintain our extensive fleet of trailers and vehicles. If you possess the skills and enthusiasm to perform repairs and upkeep on U-Haul trailers and Ford and GMC trucks, this role is an excellent fit for you.

You will have the opportunity to advance your skills through our Technician Training Program, which includes classes from Ford, GM, and U-Haul. U-Haul provides all necessary tools and fosters a learning atmosphere through mentorship from our experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Secure trailers using lifts and dollies.
  • Conduct tire and brake maintenance.
  • Rebuild and repair braking systems and trailer components.
  • Dismount, balance, and mount tires.
  • Perform occasional road tests on vehicles.
  • Work efficiently on a production line.
  • Utilize proprietary electronic pre-inspection and repair checklists.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist in various tasks as directed by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic mechanical aptitude with 1-2 years of repair experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Consistent attendance.

Work Environment:

The role involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts and machinery. Protective clothing or gear may be necessary.

Physical Demands:

The position requires physical exertion, including prolonged periods indoors and outdoors, moving tools, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs, either assisted or unassisted.
