Clinical Diabetes Educator

The Clinical Diabetes Educator-Inpatient assists nursing personnel in developing expert behaviors, competencies, and skills necessary for delivering quality patient care in the clinical setting. This role promotes a climate that supports creative thinking, professional growth, adult learning, open communication, and collaborative relationships, fostering individual job satisfaction and staff retention.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with nursing leadership as an innovator, change agent, and leader in pursuing improved perioperative nursing practice and quality patient care.
- Develop and implement educational programs to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
- Provide consultation and guidance to nursing personnel on clinical practice, education, research, and administration.
- Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing.
- 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting.
- RN Registered Nursing certification from the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support and PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association (preferred).
- Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) (preferred).
- Certified Diabetes Educator certification from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (required within 18 months of hire).
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Per Diem, 10 hour shift, with a pay range of $80.54 - $109.74 hourly. Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
