We are a leading service provider of market intelligence and operational support services to companies participating in the retail and wholesale electric and natural gas markets.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Technology Solutions to assist in guiding the long-range direction of our internal IT groups and external IT-based offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate and Develop Technology Infrastructure: Evaluate current and planned technology initiatives to facilitate the development of an overall design and direction of our technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and cloud-based resources in a technology-agnostic manner.
  2. Financial Resource Allocation: Assist our President and leadership team in determining the allocation of financial resources and personnel to company IT initiatives.
  3. Outsourcing Decisions: Work with business lines considering (or already using) third-party IT resources to help decide what to outsource and when.
  4. Data Governance: Work with business lines and IT infrastructure team to implement data governance; data storage, archiving, and data duplication policies.
  5. Software Development and Change Management: Work with IT groups to improve and standardize software development and change management processes across the company.
  6. Data Security and Technical Audit: Collaborate with our VP of IT Infrastructure and legal team on overall data security and technical audit process requirements to ensure compliance with company standards and best practices.
  7. System Testing and Health: Working with the IT team leads to develop standards for internal system testing and best practices for evaluating and ensuring ongoing system health and robustness.
Requirements
  • 15+ years overall IT experience in designing and delivering complex software development projects on time and within budget constraints.
  • 5+ years of working with Big Data such as data warehouse development experience, working with a dimensional data model, time-series data, and large databases.
  • Good understanding of the primary characteristics of hardware, software, cloud-based IT systems architecture and languages used in the IT industry today.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills when discussing technology both with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter and capable of working in a diverse team environment.
  • Proficient in project management principles and practices.
  • Four-year technical degree.
Desired Qualifications
  • Application development experience using C#, SQL Server, Python, JavaScript, and other Windows-based tools.
  • Experience with best practices in collaboration with international decentralized development teams.
  • Strong understanding of SPA and REST architecture with additional knowledge in data streaming and edge processing.
  • Advanced degree or qualification related to IT or to the energy industry.
  • Knowledge of software solutions used in the electric utility industry.
  • Experience with corporate applications of AI.
