Position Overview
QuidelOrtho is thrilled to offer distinctive opportunities for Active-Duty US Service members authorized to engage in the DoD Skillbridge program. As an authorized participant, we provide cohorts based on full-time roles that align with the service member's skills and experiences.
As an Information Security Trainee, you will embark on a comprehensive internship designed to immerse you in the complexities of Information Security Compliance. This role offers hands-on experience where you will actively engage in real-world projects, utilizing advanced tools and methodologies in the dynamic field of cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior analysts to grasp the significance of information risk, cybersecurity regulations, and industry best practices.
- Explore relevant tools such as OneTrust and ServiceNow GRC.
- Participate in Risk Management Framework (RMF) projects, gaining insights into RMF and NIST compliance assessments using tools like STIGviewer and SCAP CC.
- Delve into frameworks, understanding and implementing controls related to PCI-DSS and HIPAA.
- Engage in compliance assessments, identifying potential non-compliance areas, and proposing corrective actions.
- Conclude real-world compliance projects, evaluating in-scope systems or processes, and developing metrics for communication with IT leadership.
- Participate in final reviews and feedback sessions, presenting findings and suggestions for improvement in compliance.
- Perform additional work-related duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications:
- Active Duty US Service members authorized for the DoD Skillbridge program.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in Information Technology is preferred.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and concepts related to network security and cloud computing.
- Ability to learn and adapt swiftly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and mentors.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively on projects.
- Ability to articulate findings and recommendations clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Security+ or CCNA.
Work Environment
This role involves minimal physical activity, with occasional light lifting of files and related materials. The work consists of approximately 30% of time spent in meetings or collaborative efforts, and 70% focused on analytical tasks at a desk. Minimal travel may be required, including air and automobile travel.
Compensation Information
This is a military transitional program that does not offer compensation through QuidelOrtho. However, if selected for full-time employment upon completion of SkillBridge, you will be eligible for a compensation package and benefits provided by the company.
