Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Associate Experience Technology group, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the Corporate Email pipelines.

This role involves engineering work on the Corporate email platforms, email routing, maintaining strong adherence to compliance controls, and strategic planning related to the end-user email experience in a Federally regulated environment. You will participate in the management of an enterprise-scale SMTP mail relay ecosystem, AWS-hosted cloud messaging services, and end-user-facing messaging applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of AWS services that require DevOps knowledge and production experience
  • Design and support for Email Transport platforms (Rules/Policy Development, APIs, Mail Routing)
  • Support of Cyber Teams and adherence to compliance initiatives
  • Support and management of Corporate DMARC standards
  • Testing of updates to end-user email applications
  • Work with business partners to identify technical and functional needs to satisfy internal customer requests
  • Drive the evolution of standards and best practices for messaging services
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in cloud system administration and service design in AWS
  • At least 2 years of experience in management, troubleshooting, and support of Email Transport platforms
  • At least 2 years of experience in scripting languages (Python, Powershell, Shell, or JavaScript)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS
  • 2+ years of experience managing all or some aspects of ProofPoint Email Protect platform
  • 2+ years of Financial Services DLP strategy and methodology experience
  • 2+ years of Network topology design or management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
  • 1+ years of experience working in a Federally Regulated Financial Services environment
