OVERVIEW: The Aviation Maintenance Trainee is expected to exhibit mechanical skills and will closely observe and support a Senior Technician in the inspection, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components, all while ensuring a secure work environment and adhering to all company and federal regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Execute tasks as directed by the shop Lead.
  • Guarantee that all tasks are conducted in alignment with sanctioned technical and regulatory guidelines.
  • Document information and complete work assignments in accordance with the inspection procedures manual and quality assurance policies.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a tidy and secure workspace.
  • Ensure all shop calibrated tools are kept in optimal working condition.
  • Capable of functioning in a workshop setting with the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Assist Aviation Technicians and Shop Supervisors with all maintenance tasks, including preventive maintenance - inspection, adjustment, cleaning, and replacement.
  • Gain essential knowledge and skills through On-the-Job Training (OJT) and self-directed study to perform routine maintenance repairs on aircraft components.
  • Record work performed according to relevant manuals, including but not limited to Maintenance Manual (MM), Repair Station Manual/Quality Control Manual (RSM/QCM), General Operating Procedures (GOPs), and Structure Repair Manual (SRM).
  • Comply with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Support maintenance technicians with troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications of aircraft systems and/or components.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Enrollment in an accredited Airframe & Powerplant program is required.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Completion of General courses in the A&P program; transcripts will be required.
  • Possess effective verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of internal contacts.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Basic skills in electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting/problem-solving.
  • Proficient in computer use, particularly with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • General understanding of aircraft components and aviation maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with tooling, manuals, and aviation maintenance procedures.
  • Associate degree is advantageous.
  • 1-2 years of relevant general work experience.
