Primary Care Physician

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT for the role of Primary Care Physician within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will be responsible for:
- Delivering comprehensive medical services, including thorough assessments and employing the most effective techniques to ensure high-quality care in their specialty.
- Conducting detailed evaluations, diagnosing, and treating patients with a full spectrum of therapeutic interventions.
- Participating actively in team meetings and treatment planning sessions, collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to enhance the coordination of comprehensive patient care.
- Ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting results, and making informed treatment decisions based on findings.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, policies, and regulations, including those set forth by the Joint Commission and VA guidelines.
- Engaging in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Providing leadership and guidance to staff and participating in the supervision and education of trainees.
- Completing all clinical documentation and charting in a timely manner as required by the healthcare system.
- Planning and overseeing personal research initiatives aimed at improving program planning and treatment approaches.
The Department of Veterans Affairs offers a competitive salary, performance bonuses, and regular salary increases. Employees are entitled to:

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following basic requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state or territory.
- Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
