Grill Master

The Grill Master will play a crucial role in the preparation, grilling, merchandising, and sales of gourmet foods within the outdoor grilling section of Bashas'.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the deli/bistro manager and/or executive chef to meet the sales, presentation, and customer service objectives set for the department.
  • Plan and execute daily production and merchandising of grilled and barbecue items.
  • Handle phone inquiries and process special orders.
  • Maintain a friendly and positive demeanor towards customers and team members.
  • Engage with customers through warm greetings, offering product insights, providing meal suggestions, and actively sampling products while always expressing genuine gratitude.
  • Operate the cash register to accurately record customer purchases and transactions.
  • Facilitate catered events from inception to successful completion.
  • Work alongside the executive chef or bistro manager on menu development.
  • Design, develop, and present diverse menus, showcasing creativity and expertise.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and sales skills with customers.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all members of the deli/bistro department, catering department, and management.
  • Ensure compliance with all health department regulations and policies.
  • Monitor food costs and minimize waste by overseeing production and implementing adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Adapt to new cooking techniques and trends, incorporating them into recipes and menus.
  • Work in close proximity to hot cooking equipment.
  • Stand and work for extended periods in a warm environment.
  • Execute tasks efficiently, often with minimal supervision.
  • Learn to operate cash registers and other necessary equipment.
  • Plan, multitask, and organize effectively.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to daily challenges.
  • Exhibit dexterity to safely prepare menu items and operate kitchen tools.
  • Use all deli/bistro equipment safely and effectively.
  • Exercise caution and safety when using kitchen equipment.
