About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Data Center Engineering Operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the critical physical infrastructure of our data centers, ensuring high availability and performance while maintaining high-quality work standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of data center critical physical infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Maintain high availability and performance while ensuring high-quality work standards.
  • Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians, prioritizing and assigning tasks, managing projects, coaching, and creating documentation.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures.
  • Engage in improvement projects, driving them from conception to completion, and coordinating with third-party vendors to ensure adherence to contracted SLAs.
  • Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience and respond to out-of-hours emergency calls.
  • Act as an escalation point for data center facilities-related issues and oversee the operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems.
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment.
  • 6+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other basic administrative tools.
  • 1+ year of experience managing diverse teams.
