Cranberry Township Traffic Operations Division Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traffic Operations Technician to join our team in the Public Works Department. As a key member of our Traffic Operations Division, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to traffic signal maintenance, electrical systems, and communication infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance services on traffic signals, signs, and energized systems
  • Conduct related construction work to install equipment and maintain records for service calls and work orders
  • Operate a computer to access files and upload information to the system
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies in support of traffic signal maintenance and emergency repairs
  • Recommend adequate inventory levels and order supplies as necessary
  • Perform minor and major electrical projects and fiber optic repairs
  • Use a bucket truck, hand and power tools, and light and heavy-duty trucks
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least five years of experience in electrical systems, traffic maintenance, or a related field
  • At least one year of experience demonstrated an ability to utilize technical hardware and software
  • Electrical and traffic signal certification (for Utility II position)
  • Ability to acquire a CDL Class A license within six months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least five years of experience as a traffic signal technician with traffic signal and electrical certification
  • Advanced equipment operation proficiency in the use of a traffic bucket truck
Benefits:

We offer a competitive hourly wage, ranging from $31.15 to $38.06, pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and dependent on experience. Additionally, we provide fringe benefits, including health, dental, and vision benefits, and a generous deferred compensation plan.
