Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team at Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for screening glass slides for abnormal or cancerous cells, identifying and marking cellular abnormalities, and working closely with pathologists to provide accurate and timely diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize microscopic technique to screen glass slides for abnormal or cancerous cells
  • Identify and mark cellular abnormalities
  • Work closely with pathologists to provide accurate and timely diagnoses
  • Assist with fine needle aspiration collection and evaluation
  • Correlate cytologic findings with findings from subsequent biopsies
  • Receive and process gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens
  • Produce high-quality stained slides
  • Maintain proficiency testing as set forth by governing bodies
  • Assist in maintaining adequate supplies and equipment for the department
  • Assist with teaching, training, and mentoring cytotechnologist and medical lab assistant interns and trainees
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree Specializing in Cytotechnology
  • Cytotechnologist (CT) - ASCP Registry eligible also accepted (must take and pass registry within six months of hire date)
