Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Buyer to join our team at Sutter Health. As a Pharmacy Buyer, you will be responsible for maintaining the inventory control of pharmaceuticals and supplies, as well as gathering financial data to monitor inventory control and manage the 340B program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records of pharmaceuticals and supplies
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure compliance with departmental and organizational goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure timely delivery of products
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste
Requirements
  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
  • Graduation of an accredited pharmacy technician program
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician certification
  • 2 years of experience in a similar environment
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations, and laws and regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of different pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic delivery and procedures
  • Ability to identify and employ pharmaceutical and medical terms, abbreviations, and symbols commonly used in prescribing, dispensing, and record keeping of medications
  • Basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards, including NABP, TJC, Title XXII, DHS, DEA, FDA, and USP
Working Conditions

This position may regularly work with hazardous drugs, as identified by NIOSH for purposes of USP 800.
