Senior Accessibility Specialist

The ideal candidate will have experience evaluating accessibility compliance in the built environment, with a strong knowledge of federal and state accessibility laws, including ADA and FHA. This role requires self-motivation, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year.

About the Role:
As an Accessibility Consultant at Code Consultants, you'll collaborate with architects, developers, and building owners to ensure compliance with accessibility codes, making spaces more inclusive for people with disabilities. You'll work across a range of exciting projects, including stadiums, historical landmarks, performance venues, hotels, and retail spaces, residential complexes, educational institutions, and corporate campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site field inspections and surveys to assess compliance with ADA and FHA standards.
- Travel to various project locations (up to 20% travel).
- Work closely with project teams to develop Universal Design Solutions that eliminate barriers and create accessible environments.
- Review architectural plans and construction documents for accessibility compliance.
- Provide clear, concise reports detailing observations, analysis, and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Experience evaluating accessibility compliance in the built environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state accessibility laws, including ADA and FHA.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in technical reports.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, codes, and standards.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related fields.
- Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe, or similar software.
- Certifications such as Licensed Architect, CASp, RAS, or Certified Accessibility Inspector/Plan Examiner are a plus.
