We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Pharmacy to join our team at Maury Regional Hospital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance to our pharmacy department, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote patient safety and optimize medication therapy
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a formulary approved by the medical staff
- Coordinate programs to minimize medication errors and adverse drug reactions
- Provide education and training to pharmacists, technicians, and healthcare professionals
- Supervise pharmacy personnel and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- Monitor and justify expenses, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the pharmacy department
- Participate in committees and functions required by the organization
- Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree required
- Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Tennessee
- Completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency and a minimum of 3 years of relevant pharmacy practice experience, or
- Completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 residencies and a minimum of one year of relevant pharmacy practice experience, or
- Has a minimum of 5 years of relevant pharmacy practice experience if they have not completed an ASHP-accredited residency
- Board certification is preferred in any BPS specialty
- Some pharmacy leadership or management experience is required; a minimum of 2 years is preferred
