About the RoleThe Clinical Psychologist will provide psychological evaluations, diagnoses, treatments, and referrals for Washington State University student-athletes. This role will also assist with mental health promotion and education, as well as harm reduction programming. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Medical Director and will be responsible for providing exceptional service to the athletics department.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide psychological evaluations, diagnoses, treatments, and referrals for student-athletes
* Assist with mental health promotion and education, as well as harm reduction programming
* Work closely with the Medical Director and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to student-athletes
* Develop and maintain open lines of communication and referral systems with the athletics staff, as well as University and community resources
* Manage working relationships with student-athletes and staff in a confidential, professional manner
Requirements
* Doctoral degree in Psychology or equivalent, including completion of pre-doctoral internship
* Washington Licensure within one year to practice counseling/professional psychology
* Minimum two years of experience counseling intercollegiate student-athletes
Preferred Qualifications
* Successful experience providing student-athletes counseling in the areas of healthy relationships, substance use/abuse, life balance, and healthy life choices
* Work experience that demonstrates ability to lead crisis intervention and treatment
* Experience that demonstrates ability to work successfully with a diverse student population and knowledge of multicultural issues
* Experience working with an electronic medical records system
