Nashoba Learning Group (NLG) is seeking a qualified and licensed Physical Therapist with a minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience to provide consultative, school-based physical therapy services to students within our educational program.

About Nashoba Learning Group:
NLG was established to create a transformative life path for individuals with autism and their families. Our organization employs evidence-based teaching methods, delivered by highly trained staff, tailored to each individual in collaboration with their families.

Currently, NLG supports over 170 individuals, ranging from ages three to adult, across more than 60 communities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Our mission is to empower individuals to reach their full potential and become active, contributing members of society.

Position Overview:
The Physical Therapist will be responsible for delivering consultative services to students throughout the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:
Staff in this role will be tasked with:

  • Consulting for a caseload of up to 45 students.
  • Conducting monthly consultations with teachers, therapists, and clinical staff regarding physical therapy programs.
  • Collaborating with clinical staff to develop IEP objectives for each student.
  • Performing annual evaluations and conducting PT-related training sessions.
  • Adhering to NLG's emergency protocols, including First Aid and CPR when necessary.
  • Reporting clinical issues to the designated Clinical Director and administrative matters to the appropriate leadership.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Master's degree in Physical Therapy.
  • A valid Massachusetts license in Physical Therapy.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the field.
  • References attesting to interpersonal skills, work ethic, and commitment to providing quality education to children with autism.
  • Training in Strategies for Limiting Violent Episodes (SOLVE), First Aid, and CPR.
  • A valid driver's license in good standing.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be physically capable of ensuring student safety and implementing crisis prevention techniques, which may involve:

  • Quick and agile movements.
  • Safely lifting and restraining students when necessary.
  • Maintaining balance and performing repetitive physical tasks.
