Key Responsibilities


The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers nursing care to designated patients under the direct oversight of a Registered Nurse (RN) or another assigned supervisor. The LPN is responsible for accepting delegated tasks from the RN or assigned supervisor to fulfill the needs of patients and their families.

The LPN gathers information through observation and communicates findings to assist the RN and/or healthcare provider in patient assessment and care planning.

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the LPN collaborates with the RN and assigned supervisor to address the needs of patients and their families.

The LPN provides care in alignment with the patient care plan, adhering to the organization's policies and procedures and the principles of relationship-based care.

The LPN demonstrates exceptional communication abilities, excels in mentoring and instructing others, and may engage in committees or projects, including quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications


Must be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or have passed the LPN Boards after completing a specified duration in a professional nursing curriculum (e.g., some states permit RN students to take the LPN board exam after finishing one to two years in the RN program).

If graduation occurred more than two years ago, a minimum of one year of LPN experience in a relevant setting is mandatory. Preference is given to candidates with one year of LPN experience within the last five years. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Experience in a collaborative team environment is required. Proficiency in computer skills is necessary, with prior experience in electronic medical record systems preferred. Flexibility to work daytime hours may be needed to accommodate staffing requirements. The ability to adapt to unpredictable situations in the workplace is crucial. Graduation from an accredited practical nursing school is preferred.

Current LPN licensure in accordance with state regulations is required.

Additional Requirements


For Arizona and Florida:
Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Providers.

For Midwest:
Must maintain current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers from recognized programs such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Additional specialty certifications or training may be required based on the work area.

Compensation and Benefits


This position is classified as nonexempt. The compensation range is $34.10 per hour. Benefits are available for eligible employees.

Work Schedule


This is a part-time position with a schedule of 48 hours per pay period, typically Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts during the day. Weekend work may be required, with an expectation of 6 Saturdays per year.
