Role Responsibilities:
The Clinical Education Coordinator is responsible for delivering both general and specialized education to ensure team members are equipped to provide safe and effective care within the emergency department.

Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance the clinical skills of team members through the implementation of an Education Action Plan and annual Needs Assessment.
- Develop and manage the orientation process for designated areas, collaborating with orientees, preceptors, and nursing leadership.
- Actively engage in quality and safety initiatives to uphold high standards of practice.
- Work alongside Corporate Education to assess and ensure the ongoing competence of clinical staff.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate unit-specific educational programs to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.
- Integrate adult learning principles into all educational offerings.
- Support team member participation in professional and organizational activities.
- Maintain proficiency in nursing practice through direct patient care.
- Demonstrate professional accountability by engaging in educational or health-related professional organizations.
- Contribute to the clinical evaluation of team members.
- Participate in the recruitment and evaluation of potential staff.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities through educational courses.
- Assess and provide education to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory policies.
- Utilize evidence-based practices consistent with nursing research and national standards.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with team members and groups.
- Embrace and promote change within the organization.
- Complete required documentation training and maintain competency in electronic medical record systems.
- Participate in formal educational presentations and conferences.
- Develop assessment materials for annual clinical reviews and facilitate skills assessments.
- Serve as a mentor for new Learning Specialists.
- Engage in committees and educational initiatives that influence organizational outcomes.
- Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance effectiveness in the role.
- Create opportunities for critical thinking and reasoning skill development among team members.
- Provide development programs for preceptor growth.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.

Licensure/Certification:
- Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Florida.
- National specialty certification in the area of practice must be obtained within two years of hire, unless no certification is available.
- Basic life support, advanced life support, pediatric advanced life support, and neonatal resuscitation program certifications as required.

Experience:
- Minimum of two years of acute care hospital experience required.
- Previous emergency department experience within the last two years is highly preferred.
